One more time

Today, I wake her up
She has been asleep for a while
With broken hopes and windows closed
To her disbelief love has arrived
Outside, the birds rehearsed
And the grass wept all night
For they prayed and hoped
To break her endless night

He stood there, besides
Humming a tune, an old lullaby
Waiting for the sun to arrive
He walked all night
Even watched her cry

In quest of one more try
The sun arrived and went for her eye
She turned away to shut the light
And she carried on for one more night
To weave her endless night (1/2)

Behind the clouds, the sun returned to hide,
the ship, the boy and the tide waited another night
He sang nights after nights "One more try, one more try
It's all worth it, have seen her smile" .

And then one night
She lost the grip
And down it fell
Her "prince charming " toy
It broke her sleep
She opened her eyes

"And there he stood
In black and white
With an extended arm
A friend, a partner
